| Utah Jazz | 21 | New York Knicks | 81 | Philadelphia 76ers | 151 |
As long as Tim Duncan is healthy, the San Antonio Spurs have to be considered the favorites to win the championship. They have won four titles in 9 years but have yet to capture championships in back to back seasons.
The Dallas Mavericks were the team with the best record in 2006-07 regular season. The shocking loss in the first round of last year playoffs was an aberration and Dallas will likely make a deep playoff run this year. Dirk Nowitzki had a tremendous season last year and won an NBA MVP trophy.
The Phoenix Suns are the best team in Pacific division and they will get in the playoffs again this season. Problem is the Suns are not good enough defensively to beat San Antonio or Dallas in a seven game series.
This page is introduction to 2007/2008 NBA season. Latest news, statistics, results and predictions you can find on our main NBA page.
No team has done more reshaping in the offseason than Boston Celtics. Paul Pierce now has two All-Star teammates: Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. They are a very good team who will cause major problems in the playoffs.
The Detroit Pistons is annually considered to be a contender but they have suffered disappointment after disappointment since their championship in 2004. Detroit still has arguably the best starting lineup in the conference but they are not getting any younger.
The Cleveland Cavaliers played in the NBA Finals last year after they beat Detroit in the Eastern Conference Finals. With solid defense and LeBron James, the best player in the East, the Cavaliers might return to the NBA Finals despite they did nothing to upgrade the roster for this season.
