Fenerb. 10.10 : Midfielder Emre Belozoglu and defender Gokhan Gonul were left off Turkey's squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Estonia. The pair picked up injuries during Fenerbahce's 4-1 home defeat by Kayserispor last weekend. Emre, 28, will be out for at least two weeks with a right thigh problem, while Gokhan, 23, is likely to endure a longer absence, of three weeks, after damaging his left foot.

Juventus 8.10 : Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and winger Mauro Camoranesi face spells on the sidelines after suffering right thigh injuries in the 2-1 Serie A home loss against Palermo last weekend. Buffon has a tear to his right thigh and will be out of action for a month, while Camoranesi's problem is less serious and he will be sidelined for at least two weeks. The pair will miss Italy's World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria on October and Montenegro.

Bayern 7.10 : Coach Juergen Klinsmann has received a job guarantee until the end of the season despite Bayern Munich's worst start in three decades. The defending champions are 11th in the Bundesliga standings with nine points after seven games, trailing leaders Hamburger by seven points. "He is the right coach for us and in principle he is doing everything right... We have confidence in him," said Bayern chairman of the board Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Aalborg 7.10 : Coach Bruce Rioch said he won't renew his contract with Aalborg when it expires at the end of December. Details were not immediately revealed and the former Arsenal and Bolton manager's last game will be on December 10 against Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League. Club sporting director Lynge Jakobsen said they had not found a replacement and that Aalborg were looking for "a long-term solution coach-wise."

Real M. 7.10 : Arjen Robben faces a race to be fit for Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League trip to Juventus on October 21. The Dutch winger suffered a left thigh injury 25 minutes after coming on as a second-half substitute for Real Madrid in the 2-2 draw with Espanyol on Sunday. Robben will miss the Netherlands' World Cup qualifiers against Iceland and Norway.

Liverpool 7.10 : Slovakia defender Martin Skrtel faces a spell on the sidelines after damaging posterior cruciate ligaments in his right knee during Liverpool's 3-2 win at Manchester City. The centre-back does not need surgery for a serious-looking injury, and Liverpool revealed that Skrtel should return before Christmas. "It's bad news, but we have other options," said manager Rafael Benitez, who has central defensive cover in Daniel Agger and Sami Hyppia.

Celtic 6.10 : Striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink could be sidelined for up to a month after straining an adductor muscle in his groin. The Dutch international suffered the injury during Celtic's 4-0 win over Hamilton at the weekend. Vennegoor of Hesselink is also set to miss the Netherlands' World Cup qualifiers against Iceland and Norway.

Inter 5.10 : Defender Nelson Rivas has been ruled out of action for at least two months due to a right knee injury. The Colombian centre-back was hurt during Inter's 2-1 Serie A home win over Bologna on Saturday. After being forced to leave the field on 73 minutes, 25-year-old Rivas underwent scans that revealed a rupture in the outer collateral ligaments of his right knee.
