Rapid 24.8 : Rapid goalkeeper Georg Koch was hospitalized with hearing problems Sunday after a firecracker thrown from the stands exploded near his head in the first half of a league game against Austria Vienna. The match was interrupted for about 15 minutes after the incident before resuming. Police said they studied a video recording of the incident and arrested a suspect immediately after the match.
Austria V 26.7 : Austria vienna have signed Senegalese-born striker Mamadou Diabang from German second tier side Augsburg. The 29-year-old has agreed a two-season contract with the Austrian Bundesliga side which will expire in the summer of 2010. Diabang, who is Senegalese but holds a German passport, scored three goals in 27 games for Augsburg last season.
Austria V 3.7 : Austria Vienna have completed the transfer of Chinese international defender Sun Xiang from Shanghai Shenhua. The 26-year-old left-back has agreed a one-year contract. Sun Xiang, who made a handful of appearances for PSV Eindhoven during a short spell in the Netherlands in 2007, becomes the first Chinese player to represent an Austrian Bundesliga club.
