Christoph Daum & Guus Hiddink On Turkey Shortlist To Replace Fatih Terim - Report
Turkey coach Fatih Terim has told the media that Wednesday's match with Armenia will be his last in charge of the national side and the Turkish FA (TFF) are already eyeing some potential replacements.
Several Turkish reports claim that the TFF are desperate to sign a foreign coach as Terim's replacement to lead the nation to success again and German TV channel Sport 1 have found out who is the main candidate to take over from Terim.
Current Fenerbahce gaffer Christoph Daum is reportedly sitting in pole position for the job as Turkey's national team coach. The 55-year-old German tactician has worked successfully at Besiktas and Fenerbahce and has excellent knowledge of Turkish football.
However, Daum's current Fenerbahce contract is only due to expire in the summer of 2012, meaning that the TFF would have to pay Fener a transfer fee if they are to secure the services of Daum.
Therefore, they have set their sights to current Russia chief Guus Hiddink as an alternative. The Dutch coach has been successful all over the world and his Russia deal comes to an end after the 2010 World Cup.
