Valencia’s Hedwiges Maduro Wary Of Genoa Strength Ahead Of Europa League Tie
Hedwiges Maduro thinks that Valencia will face something of a "chess match" when they meet Genoa in the Europa League on Thursday evening in the Mestalla.
The Dutch midfielder thinks that, despite los Che having home advantage, the Italians' game plan will mean that it will be a very tight encounter.
After drawing their opening game in Lille the pressure is on Valencia to win.
"We are playing at home and we must win the game. Otherwise we will have one point and they will have six, so it's an important match," Maduro was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.
"They are going to be waiting for us to make mistakes, and I think it will be a little bit like a chess match. But we are also going to attack, because we want to win."
Maduro is hoping that David Villa, David Silva and Juan Mata all start in the game because of their undoubted talent.
"It's very nice to play behind them, because they have a lot of quality and they can always score," he added.
"We have a lot of confidence in those three."
