Felipe Melo: Juventus Are Desperate For Silverware

Juventus midfield star Felipe Melo has fired a warning shot to the entire football world, claiming that the Old Lady are desperate to return to winning ways this season after rising from the ashes of Calciopoli.

“We are convinced we can target both the Serie A and the Champions League,” he told Calcio Italia.

“Here I have found people with foam at the mouth after three winless years and they are ready for anything to bring home at least a trophy.”

Melo has made an immediate impact in Turin following his big-money switch from Serie A rivals Fiorentina last summer.

The 26-year-old is expected to feature from the start this afternoon along with compatriot Diego, who has shaken off a thigh injury, as Juve take on Bologna at the Olimpico with the objective of regaining top spot on the table from Sampdoria, who stunned Inter 1-0 Saturday evening to take provisional pole position.
